We are coming out of a particularly hot and dry summer, the ground is extremely hard under the horse’s hoof. The condition of the ground has a considerable influence on the movement and locomotion of the horse.

With each impact with the ground, a strong force starts from the foot and goes up the entire leg. Each joint, tendon and cartilage, is solicited and absorbs this force, so that it loses its intensity as it advances through the body.
The harder the ground, the higher the force of the impact, because unlike soft ground it does not absorb part of the impact. All the force is therefore sent to the foot, and can cause sequelae on the joints, lameness, etc.

Thus, be sure to identify the quality of the soil on which you are working with your horse. For walks, choose the forest paths. For sessions, choose a cushioning floor, not too hard or too deep.

If the ground is dry and hard, be sure to support your horse’s joints. Our ARTHRI’ CALM has been developed to support the joints in such cases, strengthening their flexibility, increasing their elasticity and stimulating bone metabolism.
