Aware of these daily concerns and as manufacturers of products for horses, it seemed essential to us to provide our customers with a healing solution. A wound, despite treatment, can quickly become infected and a small scratch that is not well cared for can degenerate into serious problems.

Recognised benefits for the horse

Applying an antiseptic product is not always enough. Cleaning and disinfecting the wound is of course necessary in the first place, however the application of a moisturizer relieves the skin and allows for quick and optimal skin repair.

That’s why our healing balm contains carefully chosen products.

Honey and propolis : these two products, from the hive and the work of bees, work wonders for horse wounds. They are also available as a healing balm for humans! Propolis is antibacterial: it not only acts on the bacteria present, but above all prevents secondary infection by protecting the wound. It is often used in dermatology. Honey is also restorative; it is used by some hospitals in France, in addition to care for burns, bedsores and deep wounds. Its strong healing and nourishing power is therefore scientifically recognized. Finally, it allows you to participate in the creaminess of the balm, which is easier to spread.

Our healing balm incorporates two plants that are also recognized in scar care: Plantain and Securidaca.

The Securidaca, a shrub from the African savannah, is composed, in high concentrations, of methyl salicylate that is found in the recipe for sports balms and lotions. It combines pain-relieving properties and provides the horse with a battery of benefits: reduction of inflammation, fight against infections, regeneration of the skin and dermis, etc.

Le Plantain : a perennial plant that can be found almost everywhere, plantain is sovereign to calm in no time, in humans, the bites of mosquitoes, nettles, fleas, blisters, cuts, etc. This plant has been recognized since ancient times for its hemostatic and healing properties.

Aloe vera : Increasingly present in human cosmetics due to its benefits on skin aging, aloe vera reduces inflammation, rehydrates the skin and facilitates its healing. Thanks to its virtues, its local application will soothe the area and improve the healing of the lesion.

Coconut oil : thanks to its fatty acids, the oil shows undeniable softening, moisturizing and repairing properties. Beneficial on cuts and scratches, it also provides a pleasant and discreet scent.

Allantoin : the active ingredient of the Great Comfrey plant, allantoin is an excellent product for its cosmetic value by multiplying the comfort of applying the cream thanks to its hold and suppleness. It has been selected by our laboratory for its moisturizing, soothing and regenerating properties for the skin: it stimulates the skin’s cell multiplication. Because of this, allantoin is commonly used in human skin care products.

Lanolin is a natural product from wool, allowing both the hold of the ointment and the protection of the wound. It is found in lip balms and other dermatology products.

To create a creamy texture, we had initially integrated vegetable petroleum jelly into this composition, unfortunately the grainy appearance was not ideal for a smooth application. Thus, we had to opt for Vaseline to guarantee you a creamy balm. Through all transparency and honesty with you, we do not hide it, and we are committed to working to find a natural equivalence.

The formula of our balm has been expertly designed in our laboratory to be suitable for all types of wounds.

When to use our healing balm for horses?

This ointment fulfills its functions, both on small wounds in your horse’s daily life and on more severe injuries or abrasions. It is essential and effective also on the horse’s wounds and chronic injuries. After cleaning and disinfecting the area, the strong healing power of our balm will accelerate the skin repair process and also the speed of hair regrowth.

Our healing cream is a must-have product for anyone who has a horse or takes care of a stable. We have also declined our balms in two references: a 250g jar and a 500g jar for more intensive use.

For young horses or for mobile use, we also offer a healing spray in which we have added Brassica capus (rapeseed), rich in fatty acids and omega 3, 6 and 9, it deeply moisturizes and nourishes the epidermis.
